Proper care and maintenance of hardwood flooring

Hardwood  floors require routine maintenance to keep them looking their best, but  over time the finish is slowly removed by the daily use and foot traffic  in your home. Every year the finish protecting your wood floors gets  worn and scratched. Proper maintenance of your hardwood floors is  required to prevent the eventual exposure of bare wood.  This is what  leads to the complete sanding and finishing or even damage that can lead  to the replacement of your hardwood floors.

It is important to re-coat your floors every few years to maintain its protective layer.

Re-coating  is just what it sounds like. It is adding a new layer of polyurethane  coating to your floor. This does not require the full sanding process.  You'll know when its time to re-coat your floors when the finish looks  dull and the light surface scratches in the finish cannot be removed by  cleaning.
